2 performance-related pay
HRa compensation system in which the level of pay is dependent on the employee’s performance. Performance-related pay can be entirely dependent or only partly dependent on performance. There are usually three stages to a performance-related pay system: determining the criteria by which the employee is assessed, establishing whether the employee has met the criteria, and linking the employee’s achievements to the pay structure. Performance measures can incorporate skills, knowledge, and behavioral indicators. The system can be compared to payment by results, which is based solely on quantitative productivity measures. -
